Mr. Udomphol Ninnad, representing the Thai Ambassador, opening the 2006 Update. Dr. Craig Reynolds (ANU) chaired the year in review session.
Professor Peter Warr of the ANU provided an economic overview. Dr Michael Montesano (National University of Singapore) gave a political overview.
Professor Medhi Krongkaew, newly appointed to The National Counter Corruption Commission, spoke on the Commission's future role. Professor Thitinan Pongsudhirak (Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University), keynote speaker on 'The Tragedy of the 1997 Constitution', being interviewed by ABC.
Dr. Jakkrit Kuanpoth (University of Wollongong) presented on 'The National Human Rights Commission and Independent Institutions with Responsibilities in Economic and Finance Areas. Professor Gothom Arya, Chairman of the National Economic and Social Advisory Council, gave a presentation on 'The Role of the National Economic and Social Advisory Commission and Other Independent Organisations Under the 1997 Constitution'.
