4. SITUATIONS VACANT

We are looking for three post-doctoral associates, in the following areas:

1. Quantum Computing:

We need an experimentalist to work on implementing a many-bits quantum
computer in a spectral holeburning crystal. The candidate should have a
Ph.D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering. Some experience with tunable
lasers is a must. Familiarity with cryostats is a plus, but not essential.
The position is for upto three years, available immediately, and the salary
is negotiable.

2. Bose Condensates:

We need an experimentalist to work on conducting experiments using Rubidium
Bose condensates. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Physics. Some
experience with tunable lasers is a must. Familiarity with vacuum systems is
also desirable. The position is for upto three years, available immediately,
and the salary is negotiable.

3. Atom Interferometry:

We need an experimentalist to work on conducting experiments using a
supersonic Rubidium beam for atomic interferometry. The candidate should
have a Ph.D. in Physics. Some experience with tunable lasers is a must.
Familiarity with vacuum systems is also desirable. The position is for upto
three years, available immediately, and the salary is negotiable.

Position Available Immediately

One year of funding certain, and an additional year likely. Presently have
a Cs magneto-optic trap with ongoing experiments on quantum chaos and
decoherence. A Rb trap is also under construction.
