International Conference on Laser Spectroscopy (ICOLS99)

2. CONFERENCES / WORKSHOPS

On behalf of the steering committee, the program committee, and the
local organizing committee, we are pleased to announce that the

14th International Conference on Laser Spectroscopy (ICOLS99)

will be held in INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA  from 7 - 11 June 1999.

The topics of this conference are concerned with all areas of laser
spectroscopy, especially including

- atomic and molecular laser spectroscopy
- precision spectroscopy
- laser cooling and trapping
- quantum optics
- matter wave optics and interferometry
- nonlinear optics and spectroscopy
- ultrafast and strong field phenomena
- new laser sources
- applications of laser spectroscopy
- Bose-Einstein condensation and atom lasers

The conference program consists of invited talks only, all
participants are encouraged to present their contributions during the
poster sessions. This conference is by invitation only and the maximum
number of participants will be limited to about 250 - 300.

Invitations for participants will be issued starting in January 1999,
therefore pre-registration is imperative prior to 15 December, 1998.
For pre-registration, please indicate your area of interest, the title
of an intended (poster) contribution and up to five recent
publications in the field. In order to facilitate pre-registration,
internet contact via our homepage is preferred. If this is not
possible send an e-mail message to icols99@uibk.ac.at or send a letter
with the required information to Dr. D. Leibfried, Institut f.

Please note that in the week after the conference (14-18 June 1999)
there will be the opportunity to visit the LASER MUNICH 1999 in
Munich, Germany. Please indicate any interest to attend the  laser
fair in Munich, special information will then be made available.
