Released BACKLIGHT v2.91 with fixes to

• TARGA save routine header
• Minor compile problems on some systems
• Inclusion of updated convert.cpp

Convert.cpp has been updated.

In response to the lack of 32-bit TARGA viewers on IRIX/UNIX systems, I am releasing source code for a small utility to convert between TARGA and SGI's RGB and RGBA formats.

First public release of BACKLIGHT (152 kb .zip)

Win32 Console executable for use with Windows 95, 98 and NT, with complete source code allowing compilation on other systems (IRIX, DOS, UNIX, LINUX, etc). Five sample tutorial scenes included.

Currently only images and movies are available. To download these, go to the Images or Movies pages. Sample code and additional moves from an earlier version of BACKLIGHT area available on the obsolete site, at Physics/Searle/Obsolete/Download.html.

A public release of a BACKLIGHT package for PC and/or UNIX systems will be undertaken when some small program stability problems are rectified.
