The relativistic rollercoaster
The relativistic rollercoaster exists in an imaginary world in which the speed of light is only 5 m/s.

Earth
In the solar system tour the planets are big enough to see relativitsic effects with the actual speed of light.
Receding from the earth at 15% light speed the doppler effect turns the blue Earth green.

Jupiter
Approaching Jupiter at 80% light speed its colour is blueshifted by the doppler effect.
The inset shows what we would see if there were no relativistic effects.

Saturn
At 99% light speed Saturn's rings are distorted because of the different times light takes to reach us
from their different parts.

Cube
The hollow cube is a fantasy object we fly through to dramatically illustrate relativistic visual effects.

Tram
The tram is a familiar object with which to understand relativistic visual effects.
As for the rollercoaster, we imagine that the speed of light is only a few meters per second.
