Short biography:

Karis Muller, taught European Studies and French language and politics at ANU until 2008.

Research Interests:

Mainly Europe-African relations, myth of Eurafrica.

Current Research Projects:

Article on EU energy and aid policies with respect to Africa; book on myth of Eurafrica

Teaching:

Guest lectures on EU translation policy for undergrad/postgrad course in SLS, ANU. Examiner of an Honours thesis in German , on EU energy policy, plus examiner of 2 Honours essays in French, on Algerian terrorism and on Algerian right wing resistance- also for School of Languages at ANU.

Short talk for ANU Learning Community on Europe at ANU( topic: EU Neighbourhood Policy) and soon a shared seminar for ANU MA on European Regionalism, on European regional identity as a Mediterranean power.

Activities:

Talk for Goethe Club of Canberra on Zeppelins in September; peer reviewed an article on the identity of the EU for journal European Legacy, and am reading the drafts of and advising a Japanese postgrad who is starting out as an Eurafricanist.
