Short biography:

Dr Klaus-Peter Klaiber, KCMG, has been appointed a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the National Europe Centre and in the Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy at The Australian National University. Dr Klaiber previously served as Ambassador to Australia of the Federal Republic of Germany; as European Union Special Representative in Afghanistan; and as Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. He earlier served in diplomatic postings in Kinshasa, Washington, Nairobi and London, and holds a PhD in Law from the University of Mainz.
