Final Business Plan Submission Details
Both business plans and final presentations are due by Noon, Monday 20th July. This deadline will be strictly enforced. Submission after this time will rule teams ineligible for the final awards so please make sure submissions are in before the deadline. After receiving submissions they will be reviewed and shortlisted. Shortlisted teams will then be invited to present their presentations on the evenings of the 22nd and 23rd July. Only shortlisted teams will be eligible for the final awards. We will endeavour to include as many entrants in the final presentations as possible however due to the large number of quality entrants this year there may be some teams who submit presentations and business plans who will not be invited to the final presentations.
The requirements for the final business plans to be submitted are that
it is a maximum of 30 pages long and must be in PDF format.
All teams must address (but should not limit themselves to)the fol lowing areas in
their business or commercialisation plan and final presentation:

summary
b. The Industry and the
Product(s) or Service(s)
c. Intellectual Property
Plan
d. Market Research and
Analysis Plan
e. Operational Plan
f. The Financial and
Resource Requirements Plan
g. Contribution to
Society Statement (optional)
h. Critical risks,
Problems, and Assumptions
The panel of judges will use the following criteria to judge
the
business and commercialisation plans submitted to Innovation ACT 2009:
- Originality of the idea
- Effectiveness of the
business strategy
- Impact on the market or
community
- Financial viability
- Market leadership
potential
- Stage of development of
the idea
- Effectiveness of the
operational plan
- Potential of the idea
to make a contribution to society (including through social entrepreneurship)
- Social Responsibility
and Environmental sustainability (including carbon emissions) (Social responsibility
addresses absence of negative impacts on communities and individuals (e.g. health).)
- Any other relevant
factors bearing on the quality of the proposal.
