PICT, which is an abbreviation for PICTure, and is found uniquely on Macintosh systems. Unfortunately, this format is not engineered nearly as well as the PostScript-based EPS file format and PICTs frequently cause problems for professional printers. In other words they do like to handle files which have a PICT format graphic in a page-layout document. However pict files are used in 3D packages as files you can use as textures and wrap on objects like a lable. This file format is ideal to use in the Mac's Desktop Pattern control panel to change the desktop's background pattern or photo. |
