Textiles can take many forms and may include hangings, drapes, wrappings, bands, bandages, special clothing, head wear, foot wear, bed spreads, decorations, banners, flags, baskets, bags, containers, carriers, veils, mats, sculptures.


Techniques used can be weaving, print, basketry, embroidery, sewing, smocking, lace making, knitting, crochet, knotting, tapestry, plaiting, the use of strings, etc.
