About The Authors: Jill Pettifer and Annie Trevillian.

Annie Trevillian's studio practice includes drawing, design, relief printing, experimentation with Adobe Photoshop computer aided design and production of handprinted fabrics. She also lectures to undergraduate and post-graduate visual art students in the areas of; screenprinting on fabric which includes artwork design and layout, colour separations, stencil preparation, colour mixing and matching, registration and printing; design techniques and processes for surface design applications on fabrics; computer aided design, concept development and studio theory. Annie is an active long-term committee member of Megalo Access Arts - Canberra's only access fabric and paper screenprint workshop and studio which caters for hand practitioners.

Jill Pettifer's studio practice is in the design, construction, dye and chemical treatments of textiles. She has developed wider specialist knowledge in the area of textiles technology which includes the sourcing of natural and synthetic fibres through to the manufacturing processes of spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting and finishing of fabrics. As well, Jill lectures in the areas of constructed textiles, surface design techniques, creative dyeing textile technology and runs workshops for textile practitioners updating their technical knowledge.

In 1995 we realised the great potential and possibilities of combining our areas of expertise with a broad range of practical applications in the field of innovative contemporary textiles.
