Course Commitment
12 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Present a resolved body of work

2. Identify and articulate the areas of focus embodied in the work both verbally and in the form of a written artist’s statement

3. Locate that body of work within a broader professional and cultural context

4. Conduct research to develop individual concerns

5. demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
   

Assessment Schedule

Assessment at this level is by a 2 part panel: a Moderating Panel and a Workshop Panel.  The 20% Assessment Item will be assessed by the Workshop Panel only; the 80% Assessment Item will be assessed by both Panels at each student’s final assessment.  Students must however present all material assessed as part of the Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation item at final assessment.

Course Problems
If you have problems concerning a course you are taking, it is best in the first instance to speak directly to the lecturer concerned. You can also take up your concerns with the Head of School. Many courses and programs have student representatives, and you may find it useful to direct your concerns via them. The ANU Students’ Association (ANUSA) has two Student Representatives in the College of Arts and Social Sciences who can help you with problems or concerns that you may have with your course or degree.  They can help you by talking to lecturers or tutors on your behalf, help you address your concerns with assessment, and give you advice about appeals procedures.  They also sit on a number of College Committees, so let them know if you have complaints or suggestions for improvement about your courses or about facilities and services more generally.  You can contact them by emailing them at arts.facrep@anu.edu.au or visit the ANUSA website for more information http://sa.anu.edu.au.
