The Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) Honours year provides the
opportunity for students who have excelled in the first three
years of a BVA course to further develop their abilities.
It offers a focused program of study that prepares them for
high level independent professional practice and for continuing
higher degree study.
Research proposals for Honours level study in all of the School's
major workshop disciplines are submitted for entry to the
program, and projects which include work within the Environment
Studio, the Computer Art Studio, the Artist Book Studio, and
the Art Theory Workshop are also considered.
The Honours Program of Study
The Honours program comprises a two semester long studio research
project and an accompanying research report. The studio research
project develops out of the research proposal submitted for
entry to the program and is carried out under the supervision
of workshop staff, while the report documents the development
of the research and outlines its historical/theoretical and
cultural contexts.
