Graduate
studies are conducted as part of the ANUs Visual Arts Graduate
Program. The Ceramics Workshop provides a context for post
graduate studies which takes advantage of the range of expertise
and resources within the Workshop and School, as well as
the proximity to the major collecting institutions such
as the National Gallery of Australia and Australian National
Library. The graduate study program presumes that the candidate
has previously been working as an artist or is a highly
accomplished recent graduate. Graduate students are provided
with individual studio space in the Workshop and work closely
with staff and the Graduate Program Convenor. The graduate
seminar program fosters an exchange of ideas between graduate
students across the School.
The
programs of study offered by the Ceramics Workshop provide
a framework for students who wish to extend their practice
through an intensive period of studio-based and/or written
research, or course-work studies. Individual programs of
study in either coursework or research modes are developed
in consultation with workshop staff.
