As a maker my understanding of design is that the work should speak for itself.

Cinnamon Lee was born in and bred in the inner western suburbs of Sydney. She made an early decision to study jewellery and object design, which luckily for her, turned out to be a fortuitous one. A short time after completing an Associate Diploma at the Sydney Institute of Technology Design Centre in 1996, she moved to Canberra to further her studies at the ANU School of Art. Cinnamon graduated with an Honours Degree from the Gold and Silversmithing Workshop in 2001 and promptly retuned to Sydney. Strangely enough, the return was also to her original place of study at the Sydney Institute where she managed to gain teaching experience as a lecturer. Around the same time Cinnamon was also awarded an Object ‘New Design’ award which led to a mentorship grant with Sydney furniture/lighting designers Korban/ Flaubert. In 2003 Cinnamon returned to Canberra in order to fill a teaching position in the Gold and Silversmithing Workshop. Cinnamon has exhibited both nationally and internationally during this time and has work in the Nationally Gallery of Australia collection.
