Humanities Research Centre

In 2007, the Humanities Research Centre, along with National Europe Centre, the Australian National Dictionary Centre and the Centre for Cross Cultural Research, was incorporated into the Research School of Humanities. Dr Debjani Ganguly, previously director of research at the Centre for Cross Cultural Research, was appointed the Head of HRC after Professor Ian Donaldson’s departure in February. Under its new arrangements, the HRC continues to host its flagship Visiting Fellows Program which has run successfully over these last thirty years and has brought so many eminent and promising national and international scholars to ANU. It also hosts the Seymour Biography Institute and the Freilich Foundation. Under the RSH, the Centre will plan, host and administer all conferences, symposia and seminar series for the School, and represent RSH internationally in major Humanities forums such as the CHCI (Consortium of Humanities Centres and Institutes).
