Thesis title: Can Orchids communicate? Host and fungal specificity amongst Australian epiphytic orchids

The main objectives of my project are to determine:

• If the orchids, Sarcochilus hillii , Sarcochilus olivaceous and Plectorrhiza tridentata , have a specific association with their endophytic fungi
• How an orchid seed controls the colonisation of its fungal associate and the orchids subsequent establishment.
