Marine
ecosystems play a central role in the health and function of our
planet. Given increasing anthropogenic exploitation and modification,
there is an urgent need for us to study and understand marine
systems if management strategies are to succeed. Such study often
requires a multifaceted approach, drawing from techniques in several
fields of physical and biological science. Marine scientists at

We offer a full range of undergraduate courses in the fields of marine biology, chemistry, geology and physics as part of our undergraduate degrees (Bachelor of Global & Ocean Science and Bachelor of Marine Science). Our members also have a similarly diverse range of postgraduate research degree opportunities (see research and study options for more information). By working closely with the employers of our graduates, we tailor our undergraduate and postgraduate training to provide the most relevant and up-to-date skills in marine science.
