With my research I want to
investigate the behavioural and evolutionary responses of animals to
changing social and environmental conditions. Birds have long been used
successfully to test ideas in behavioural ecology and evolutionary
theory, however, the focus to date has been on the comparatively small
proportion of birds living in the northern hemisphere. I centre my work
around tropical and southern hemisphere birds because these intriguing
species have the potential to shake up our traditional understanding of
how animals interact with each other and their environment.
